International Service

Last year our Rotary club raised nearly $10,000 for Rotary International's PolioPlus program and LifeNets Water Well Project in Malawi, Africa. This year the 007th Annual James Bond Casino Night Fundraiser & Auction will benefit LifeNets' Academy in Malawi. This gala event will be held at the Columbia Tower Club on Saturday April 17th. If you'd like to purchase tickets please visit our Casino Night Website. If you'd like to support this project in other ways we are currently seeking corporate sponsors and auction items.

We also collect unused cell phones which are then sold with the funds going to LifeNets various missions in Malawi, Africa.

Community Service

Our club participates in a variety of local community service projects. Every month many of our members support Rotary District 5030's First Harvest organization by boxing fruits, vegetables and other foods the second Saturday of each month at the Northwest Harvest Building in Kent and the fourth Saturday of each month at Food Lifeline in Shoreline. Anyone, Rotarian or not, is welcome to join us and other Rotarians from around District 5030 in this fun and worthwhile activity. For directions to Kent click here. For directions to Shoreline click here.

This year we are again supporting PAWS by participating in their annual PAWS Walk on September 12th.

We're also pleased to be a sponsor of the Washington Defense Trial Lawyers Association's Team Pro Bono in the annual Bike MS Ride.

We collect clothing for women at Jubilee Women's Center.

This year we're starting a new program for feeding the homeless. Once a quarter we devote one of our meetings to putting together small bags of non-perishable food which our members can then carry around in their cars and give to anyone they may come across who is in need.

Vocational Service

We are once again partnering with the Jubilee Women's Center and offering Life Skills classes to the women there. Classes teach professional development skills like interviewing and financial management.

This year we are happy to be inaugurating our Student of the Month program by partnering with the Eastside Academy. Each month we will be inviting to lunch one or two students who have shown leadership within their school or community. At the end of the year one of these students will be eligible for a Rotary Youth Leadership Academy scholarship.

Club Service

Our club raises money for its needs and for other unplanned charitable gifts through monthly Texas Holdem tournaments. If you'd like to be invited to an upcoming game please email info@seattleskylinerotary.org.
